Blue Run Spirits Releases Indy 500 Bourbon Bottle Exclusively in Indiana

Blue Run Spirits is launching an Indiana-exclusive, limited-edition bourbon in partnership with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of the Indianapolis 500, tying one of racing’s biggest annual events to a single-state whiskey release.

The new bottling features Blue Run’s Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon, offered at 111 proof and released in limited quantities through select Indiana retailers during the lead-up to “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

The bottle design incorporates Blue Run’s signature butterfly medallion reimagined with a black-and-white checkered flag design, along with the IMS wing-and-wheel insignia on the neck label. The brand also continues its use of French-cut glass and metallic screen-print detailing, along with a commemorative tax strip over the cork.

“Celebrating the Indy 500 with friends and family is one of the best traditions at IMS,” J. Douglas Boles, president of INDYCAR and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, said in a news release. “This limited-edition packaging lets our fans take home a little piece of that celebration.”

Blue Run Spirits General Manager Katy McBrady said the collaboration connects Kentucky bourbon tradition with Indiana’s racing culture, pointing to shared themes of performance and craftsmanship.

Inside the bottle is Blue Run’s High Rye Bourbon, which has earned honors including recognition at major spirits competitions such as the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and TAG Global Spirits Awards.

The whiskey is described as delivering rye spice layered with brown sugar, stone fruit and baking spice notes, with a long finish of herbal tea, peach and clove.

Distribution will be limited entirely to Indiana, positioning the release as both a regional exclusivity play and a race-week collector’s item tied to one of the most recognizable sporting events in the United States.
