On Wednesday, Pinhook Bourbon unveiled the 2024 release of its Vertical Series Bourbon.
Each year, Pinhook releases a new Vertical bourbon and rye, and each year the bottling grows a year in age.
At 9 years of age, this year’s bourbon is the sixth of nine planned Vertical Series bourbon releases. Bottled at 57.2% ABV, Pinhook Vertical Series 9-Year Bourbon is blended from 100 barrels.
For its Vertical Series, Pinhook took 1,350 MGP barrels and is releasing one batch of them each year to give fans a chance to truly experience the impact on age by tasting the same whiskey bottled at one year older each year.
The Vertical Series casks are aged and blended at Castle & Key in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Pinhook’s Vertical Series 9 Year Bourbon has a suggested retail price of $92.99 and can be ordered via Pinhook’s website or found at select U.S. retailers.
In March, Pinhook debuted the 2024 iteration of its Vertical Series rye whiskey, which clocked in at 8 years old.
Pinhook is a whiskey brand but also involved in the horse racing industry as a partner of Bourbon Lane Stable. Each Pinhook release is named after one of Bourbon Lane’s thoroughbreds. The Vertical Series bourbon releases are all named for Bourbon War, who has raced and won at Belmont Park, Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, Keeneland, Pimlico Race Course and Saratoga.
