UFC President Dana White Was Reportedly Behind Donald Trump’s Recent Endorsement of Bud Light

CNBC reported on Friday that Trump’s social media post asking supporters to give Bud Light another shot might just have been at the behest of the Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White.

The former president shared a Truth Social post referring to Bud Light’s collaboration with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney as “a mistake of epic proportions,” yet he asked his followers to consider giving the brand a second chance.

“Anheuser-Busch is not a Woke company, but I can give you plenty that are, am building a list, and might just release it for the World to see,” the former president wrote. “Why not, the Radical Left does it viciously to well run Conservative companies – and people! Very nasty, but it’s a way to play the game!”

Trump continued his lengthy post by stating that Anheuser-Busch spent $700 million a year with “GREAT Farmers” and employed “65 thousand Americans, of which 1,500 are Veterans, and is a Founding Corporate Partner of Folds of Honor, which provides Scholarships for families of fallen Servicemen & Women.”

On Anheuser-Busch’s LinkedIn page, the company claims it employs “more than 19,000 colleagues across the United States.”

CNBC reported that a source “familiar with the situation” claimed White reached out to the ex-president because UFC announced a partnership worth $100 million to make Bud Light the official beer partner of the company.

When asked about White requesting Trump’s support, spokespeople for the UFC and Anheuser-Busch both refused to comment on the situation.

To turn its image around, Bud Light announced a partnership with Shane Gillis in early February. Gillis is a controversial comedian who was fired from SNL before ever appearing on the show. Production decided to make the move after discovering a podcast where Gillis issued homophobic comments and racial slurs against the AAPI community.

Interestingly enough, Dana White is no stranger to controversy. The UFC president has faced backlash multiple times — including the time he got into a physical altercation with his wife on New Year’s Eve of 2022. White has known Trump for a long time, and according to Deadline, they have a “close relationship.”

“My relationship with Trump is a 20-year relationship,” White told Deadline. “I’ve been friends with this guy for 20 years, and when he shows up to the fights… The guy is a fight fan. He’s been a fight fan.”

White told the outlet he gave credit to Trump for lending out the Trump Taj Mahal to host an event when White took over leadership operations at the UFC. Yet, the president of the UFC insists as far as political inclinations go, he is centrist.

“People think I’m some like crazy conservative — I’m not,” White told Deadline. “I’m right down the middle and I’m for common sense. There’s lunatics on this side, and there’s lunatics on this side, and I’m right down the middle. I want common sense, and I’m done with all the bulls–t.”
