Old Forester Celebrates Black History Month With Special Bourbon Barrel, Free Admission to African-American Museum

Old Forester Distilling Company is collaborating with Roots 101 and Kentucky’s Original Black Bourbon Enthusiasts to celebrate Black History Month. The distillery is offering the public free admission to the Roots 101 African-American Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, on Feb. 3.

Furthermore, Roots 101 and KOBBE selected a barrel of Bourbon that will be sold at Old Forester Distillery on Feb. 3. The proceeds from the sale of the Bourbon will benefit the museum. The barrel selected is barrel-strength.

“I have always said legacies matter,” said Lamont Collins, founder of Roots 101, according to American Whiskey Magazine. “There’s no doubt that the legacy of [Old Forester owner] Brown-Forman is a beacon in Louisville. The company is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion – and we are honored to partner with Old Forester to introduce more people to Roots 101.”

USA Today recently named Roots 101 African-American Museum one of America’s top 10 new attractions.

Current exhibits at Roots 101 include “The Benin Exhibit,” “The Benin Empire,” “Protest to Progress,” “Deeply Rooted Studios,” “Benin Africa” and “Royal Artifacts.”
