Angel’s Envy announced on Wednesday that it will release its first age-stated whiskey, Angel’s Envy 10 Year Old Cask Strength, nationwide on Oct. 10. Bottled at 122.6 proof, the limited-edition bourbon has a suggested retail price of $249.99 per 750-milliliter bottle, of which 24,480 will be available.

Developed under Master Distiller Owen Martin, whom Angel’s Envy hired from Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey in 2022, the new whiskey spent 10 years aging in new American oak and port wine barrels. Martin oversaw every stage of production to ensure balance and complexity.

“Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength represents more than just a decade of aging — it embodies the dedication, precision, and passion that our team pours into every bottle,” Martin said in a news release “I’m incredibly proud of how this expression pushes the boundaries of what we’ve achieved with our cask releases, using a deft touch to balance a refined port character at a bold cask strength. It’s a milestone that reflects both our journey and the artistry that goes into every step of crafting a whiskey worth savoring.”

The release date has historical significance for the brand. October 2010 was the originally planned launch month for Angel’s Envy, but the debut was delayed until founder Lincoln Henderson deemed the product ready.

Tasting notes highlight sweet cinnamon toast and creamy fruit nougat on the nose, with flavors of baklava, ripe apricot, crème brûlée, and cognac, finished with hints of grains of paradise and rum raisin cake. The port barrels influence is especially noticeable on the finish.

We have a sample in hand and will have our own review and tasting notes live in the coming days. Keep your eyes out for that!

Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength will be sold at select U.S. retailers, the Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, and online at angelsenvy.com.
