The Macallan is rounding out its Harmony Collection with a pair of whiskies that pay homage to coconut. That Macallan Piña Colada you’ve dreamed of? It might finally become a reality.

Earlier this week, the historic distiller unveiled two new single malt bottlings: Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut. Unlike another recent experiment in the whiskey world, the spirits do not directly integrate their namesake flavor. Instead, master whisky maker Kirsteen Campbell says that the team “carefully guided coconut notes to the forefront” through precise cask selection and maturation, using a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon barrels.

Inspired by Fresh Coconut is said to be the more playful of the two, boasting aromas and flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, lime zest and soft coconut milk. Inspired by Toasted Coconut is characterized by crème caramel, white chocolate, charred pineapple and frangipane. Both whiskies are bottled at 46.3% ABV and cost a suggested retail price of $185.

One, however, will be easier to track down than the other. While Fresh Coconut is available for purchase globally online, Toasted Coconut will be a travel retail exclusive rolling out at select airports.

“The Harmony Collection represents the culmination of a journey defined by curiosity and creativity,” Creative Director Jaume Ferras added. “This release brings together exceptional whisky mastery, innovative materials and immersive storytelling to create a truly harmonious experience. By exploring a flavor profile rarely seen in The Macallan, we are presenting something both unexpected and unmistakably true to our heritage.”

The Harmony Collection is a series of whiskies that spotlight sustainable packaging, artisan collaborations and unique flavor inspirations. The inaugural release was Rich Cacao, a scotch uncorked in 2021 in collaboration with pastry chef Jordi Roca and chocolatier Damien Allsop. Subsequent releases have recruited the likes of fashion designer Stella McCartney, JING Tea and Cirque du Soleil.
