On Thursday, Jack Daniel’s announced the release of Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey, a super-limited global collaboration with the McLaren Formula 1 Team, now available in select markets for a suggested retail price of $599.99 per 1-liter bottle.

The release is described by the brand as the most premium and limited global offering in its history, combining a high-proof Tennessee whiskey with packaging inspired by Formula 1 engineering.

The whiskey is distilled from Jack Daniel’s traditional mashbill of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley and undergoes the brand’s standard charcoal mellowing process.

The barrels used to age this whiskey were constructed from American white oak staves that were aged longer in open air prior to coopering. According to the brand, that extended seasoning reduces tannins and contributes to a softer mouthfeel alongside deeper color and more pronounced flavor development.

The whiskey is bottled at 58.7% ABV (117.4 proof).

The bottle’s structure takes inspiration from McLaren’s “halo” safety device, reimagined as a sculptural vessel. Packaging incorporates materials and finishes modeled after those used in race car construction, including alloy metal, carbon fiber detailing, and micro-suede elements.

The presentation also includes a hand-finished cork and custom medallions, underscoring the collectible focus of the release.

Flavor Profile and Inspiration

Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher described the whiskey as opening with maple, fruit and toasted oak on the nose, followed by caramel and chocolate on the palate with evolving notes of tobacco and baking spice. The finish is said to linger, emphasizing barrel spice and brown sugar.

The proof point also references McLaren founder Bruce McLaren, whose first race car carried the number 58.

The Halo MK1 is aimed at both whiskey collectors and Formula 1 fans, continuing Jack Daniel’s broader partnership with McLaren. The release reflects a growing trend of ultra-premium, design-forward bottlings tied to global sports properties.

Quantities are limited, with availability spanning select international markets and direct-to-consumer channels while supplies last.
