Days after the release of his fragrance line (one variety of which, we must add, is meant to smell like bourbon), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is expanding his business empire with a pair of limited-edition tequilas.

On Friday, Teremana unveiled The Craft Editions, reskins of its popular Blanco and Reposado bottlings paying homage to the traditional spirits production techniques of Jalisco, Mexico. The brand’s Blanco is reimagined in a shade of cobalt blue that nods to its 100% Blue Weber agave recipe, while the Reposado is packaged in a metallic copper bottle inspired by the pot stills used at its distillery. Copper pot stills are widely believed to yield superior, agave-forward flavors in tequila, and Teremana is one of the largest brands to incoporate the technique into its repetoire.

The liquid inside the bottles, however, is the same as ever — so if you’re interested, be sure to check out what critics have to say about Teremana Blanco and Reposado, both of which have been on the market for over six years.

The brand hasn’t given an exact release date yet, nor have it provided a suggested retail price, though you can expect to see the bottles pop up on shelves soon in anticipation of Father’s Day.

“I’ve always believed that if you respect the process and culture, be authentic and real with your words and actions, the rest takes care of itself,” Johnson remarked in a news release.

“The Craft Editions feel deeply personal to me because it’s a tribute to that journey. It’s a way of honoring the agave that takes years to grow, our handmade copper pot stills and the team in our distillery who show up with pride every single day.”

Compared to its contemporaries, Teremana has maintained a relatively light portfolio since its debut in April 2020. The brand has only ever released a Blanco, Resposado and Añejo, and though it’s collaborated with likes of the Texas Rangers for limited-edition reskins, Johnson’s tequila has steered clear of venturing into mezcals or ultra-aged offerings.
