This month, Heaven Hill rolled out the B524 barrel-proof bourbons for the company’s Elijah Craig and Larceny brands, Beverage Dynamics reported. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof B524 is 11 years and 2 months old and clocks in at a high proof of 130.6.  Larceny Barrel Proof B524 is aged between six and eight years and hosts a proof of 125.4.

The brand unveiled its first Elijah Craig Barrel proof release of 2024 in its typical lowkey fashion in January. That bourbon hosted a more modest proof of 119.

Both Elijah Craig and Larceny’s final barrel-proof expressions are expected to roll out in September, concluding the three releases for the year.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof B524 is non-chill-filtered, according to the brand, and hosts a suggested retail price of $74.99. Larceny Barrel Proof  B524 comes from Heaven Hill’s wheated bourbon mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. It hosts a suggested retail price of $64.99 a bottle.

In 2023 Heaven Hill decided to begin barreling Elijah Craig bourbons in small batches with different age statements instead of sticking to Elijah Craig’s standard 12-year age statement.

Though some Heaven Hill fans balked at the change out of fears Elijah Craig’s bourbons would get younger and younger, the brand surprised its customer base with the release of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch C923, which clocked in at an age statement of 13 years, making it the oldest Elijah Craig Bourbon ever. C923 was a winner through and through, and if you want to read more of what we thought about it, you can read our review here.

The brand’s releases both within its Elijah Craig and Larceny series all feature a naming system. The letter “B” marks the second release within the brand’s “A, B and C” lineup. The number marks the release month and the last two numbers keep track of the year of the release.

The first Elijah Craig Bourbon release of 2024 marked a very strong start for Heaven Hill, and the bourbon received an 8 at Bottle Raiders, which is no easy feat. If you want to know what we thought of it, you can read our review here.

Larceny Barrel Proof Batch A124 was no slouch either and hosted a proof of 125.8. If you want to know what we thought of it, you can read our review here.
