In celebration of Negroni Week, a new Guinness World Record was set on Monday for the world’s largest Negroni at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.
Negroni week is celebrated in participating venues from Sept. 12th to the 18th and has been around since 2013. The initiative was first launched by Imbibe Magazine in 2013 to fundraise for charities while celebrating a well-loved mixed drink. What better way to appreciate one of the world’s most iconic cocktails than by making the world’s largest version of it?
The massive cocktail officially measured at a whopping 633.65 liters (167 gallons). It was served in a specially crafted 1.4 by 1.7-meter (5.5 by 4.5-foot) acrylic container surrounded by ice. The cocktail was prepared and displayed at the hotel’s outdoor garden, Urban Oasis. Friends, supporters and esteemed guests of the hotel witnessed the world-record event unfold.
The adventurous feat was pulled off by General Manager Patrick Both and his team of talented mixologists. The enormous cocktail was concocted with 210 liters (55 gallons) of each Negroni ingredient: gin, Campari and Cinzano 1757 Rosso Vermouth. The lucky gin selected to take part in this world record was Bulldog Gin.

“It’s a long time in planning,” Both stated in a video. “There are a lot of rules and regulations that you need to admit and we are really really proud that we’ve been able to do it.”
The world’s largest Negroni will “continue to be served in a one-tenths replica ice cube glass at the hotel’s cocktail bar and Italian restaurant until it’s gone,” Food & Wine reported
