The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that Argentinian soccer icon Lionel Messi is popping the cork on a new wine line called GOAT 10. The red wine line consists of Syrah and Primitivo, and the bottles are priced at £50 ($63.)

The British outlet reports that the wine is made in Italy’s Campania, Puglia and Sicily regions. Both wines clock in at 14% ABV.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of this collection, which pays tribute to a true legend and combines exceptional quality with our rich winemaking heritage,” MM Winemaker said, according to the Daily Mail. “Each bottle is crafted with great care and precision, making it not just a beverage but a collectible masterpiece for our customers.”
Messi joins many famous athletes to launch their alcoholic beverage lines. From LeBron James’ Lobos 1707 Tequila line to Travis Kelce’s Clase Azul Tequila brand, it seems like multiple athletes are launching their custom spirits lines.
Earlier in November, NBA star Domantas Sabonis and his wife launched a wine line called Ones by Sabonis. The inaugural wine was a 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon with grapes grown exclusively in Napa Valley. The bottles have a suggested retail price of $125.
More on Lionel Messi’s GOAT 10 Collection
MM Winemaker describes Lionel Messi’s GOAT 10 Syrah as possessing aromas of blackberries and ripe cherries. The palate has flavors of cherries and blackberries with vanilla and spice. Soft tannins add a gentle structure to the wines.
The Primitivo possesses a more red fruit-driven aroma with spice and body, coupled with cherries and plums. MM Winemaker claims there are subtle undertones of vanilla on the palate. The palate is full of spices and has plenty of structure, according to the brand’s website.
