  • This was so close to knocking it out of the park. Nose was great. Palate was great. Finish was meh. I really enjoyed it though and I thought this is a stellar attempt by Wyoming. I look forward to trying other, potentially older expressions, to see if they can iron out that finish with age.

  • Wyoming Whiskey Outryder is downright delicious. They keep releasing little caches of it, and the extra time this one spent in barrel was worth it. Would that this review sample was more than a promotional flask!

  • The palate enters soft, then vanilla comes back to the forefront, along with rye spice, and a light medicinal strain of pine and mint

  • Wyoming Whiskey Outryder not too shabby and a great new addition to the craft BiB lineup.

  • With dilution, the flavor softens to vanilla-almond flecked with cinnamon and clove. Made with rye, corn and malted barley.

  • The long finish is where most of the spice emerges along with some subtle orange zest. For their first foray into rye-forward whiskey, this one is a true winner from the folks in Kirby.

  • More richness on the finish, which is lengthy and lush, with dark chocolate, pecans, and iced tea. This is well-proofed, but a little water makes it sing.

  • Nose:

Sweet honey, cinnamon, ginger. It's very floral, and nicely sweet as well. No big red flags in the nose that this is an overly young craft product.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel. Lots of nice honey and caramel. No real heat. Faint fruitiness, sweet butter cream and lots of floral notes. Faint cardamom.

  • Finish:

Medium length, some funk and some faint astringency.

  • Overall:

This was so close to knocking it out of the park. Nose was great. Palate was great. Finish was meh. I really enjoyed it though and I thought this is a stellar attempt by Wyoming. I look forward to trying other, potentially older expressions, to see if they can iron out that finish with age.
