This is the 19th release of Stagg, formerly known as Stagg Jr. The "22b" in the name presumably indicates that this was the second Stagg release of 2022. We've tasted many batches of Stagg before — let's see how this one holds up.

  • Stagg does it again. More savory than past releases but a winner in my book.

  • Nose:

Brown sugar, maple, sweet oak, cherry cordial, root beer and a touch of vanilla bean, creamy custard and peppy pepper.

  • Taste:

Rich and viscous, powerful and proofy, rich and full of cocoa, cherry cola, luxardo, cocoa, espresso and toffee. Goodness it’s rich and complex, and the proof quickly fades.

  • Finish:

Long finish, funky and powerful, rich and cherry-cola-forward.

  • Overall:

Stagg does it again. More savory than past releases but a winner in my book.
