  • I would’ve bet money that with 18 years in a barrel, I wouldn’t have been able to find any fruit notes inside my glass, but I was wrong.

  • Nose:

Deep, dark, rich and tantalizing on the nose. Dark chocolate, leather, toffee, chopped peanuts, gingerbread, maple syrup, cherry, espresso, powdered ginger and a touch of smoked meat.

  • Taste:

Gorgeous and rich on the palate. It's very oaky, tannic and dry but doesn't reach over-oaked status. Crème brûlée, espresso, cherries, peanut brittle, vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge, leather, cinnamon.

  • Finish:

Leather and tobacco lead a long, slick finish, joined by oak and tannin, which are followed by luxardo cherry, lemon curd, cookie butter and dark chocolate, plus a bit of pepper and clove.

  • Overall:

Exquisite bourbon. It's leathery, well-aged, powerful and perfectly oaky. This is MGP distillate at its best and I'd say a legitimate bourbon of the year contender.
