Sweet, lovely nose: crème brûlée, luxardo cherry, demerara, cinnamon.
Moderate mouthfeel. The palate is quite oaky, with notes of crème brûlée, buttercream frosting, pear, orange peel, fudge, cinnamon and ash.
The finish is medium in length and oaky, opening with toasted oak, which leads into mocha, coconut and then apricot.
A good batch of Birthday Bourbon and an improvement over last year’s. It still, in my opinion, doesn’t live up to the hype or price that the Birthday Bourbon series commands — but it’s very good bourbon nonetheless.
