  • It’s a delicious whiskey with a uniquely fruit-forward profile, one that showcases its maturity without leading with astringency or leaning on wood tannins.

  • There’s a decadence to the flavor profile, and the higher (but not too high) proof adds a bit of heat to complement all those rich, creamy notes.

  • Nose:

Beautiful, confectionary nose full of maple, sweet cream, soft oak, cherry, cinnamon, fondant, gingersnap cookies and mint.

  • Taste:

This bourbon has a wonderful, silky viscosity and plenty going on on the palate. Toasted oak, cherry cola, frangipane, burnt caramel, clove, anise, mint, tobacco, lemon curd, cinnamon leather.

  • Finish:

The finish is medium in length, leading with a buttery texture, a big anise note and drying tannin, leather, maple, chopped walnuts, sassafras, cream, cigar wrapper and Milk Duds.

  • Overall:

This is a lovely bourbon from Bowman. It's oaky, decadent, drinks lower than its proof (complimentary) and has a wonderful balance of decadent sweetness, spice and oak. It tastes like nothing else I've had this year and is delicious. Not quite a bourbon of the year contender for me, but it's in that next tier.
