Bacardi Rum Celebrates ‘Face of the Brand’ Camila Cabello’s Nomination During its Return to MTV’s VMAs

Bacardi announced on Monday that the rum brand was returning as the official spirits partner of MTV’s and Paramount Studio’s Video Music Awards (VMAs), which is set to take place on September 11. The brand additionally shared it would be celebrating its “global face of the brand” Camila Cabello’s nomination for the “Best Pop” category.

To celebrate Cabello’s achievement, Bacardi shared it is bringing “‘Camilizer’ super-fans” to the event for a fan tribute produced by Paramount Studios.

Bacardi is additionally offering an interactive “Last Drops of Summer” event in New York honoring the songs of the season. For the brand’s “Last Drops of Summer” party, guests will be able to enjoy bespoke cocktails featuring Bacardi and toast the artists who released hit songs of the summer.

The rum brand additionally announced the release of a “VMAs” limited edition label that can be purchased here. The bottle implements AI, creating custom labels that honor New York landmarks.

With a bit of help from Camila Cabello, the new global face of BACARDÍ, we plan to raise a glass to this year in music, while putting the fans first and creating unforgettable experiences throughout the weekend.”

On the evening of the event, Bacardi shared it will be offering custom cocktails to celebrate the VMAs. Some of the cocktails are the Moonwalk Mojito, Bacardi That Mango Fuego, Bacardi 808, and a bespoke cocktail for guests of the event.

The brand included the recipe for its Moonwalk Mojito, the Official Cocktail of the 2024 VMAs for fans looking to partake in the festivities from afar.

Moonwalk Mojito Recipe, via Bacardi

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz of Bacardi Superior Rum
• 3/4 oz lime juice
• 3/4 oz. Monin Mojito Mint syrup
• 2 oz club soda
• 5 to 6 fresh mint leaves

Mix Bacardi Superior Rum, lime juice, syrup and mint leaves in a shaker tin with ice and shake. Strain into a cup over ice, float club soda over the cocktail and stir. Garnish with mint sprig.
