On Tuesday, 2XO Whiskey unveiled its latest expression — The Kiawah Blend.

The fourth release in 2XO Whiskey’s Icon Series, The Kiawah Blend is a nod to whiskey blender and 2XO Whiskey founder Dixon Dedman’s “happy place,” Kiawah Island, according to the brand.

Kiawah Island is located about 25 miles southwest of Charleston, South Carolina.

“Kiawah Island is a special place for me,” Dedman said in a news release. “It’s where my family has been vacationing since I was a kid, where my wife and I have been taking our children. It’s my happy place – where I can get away with family and friends and step off the grid.”

As for the whiskey itself, The Kiawah Blend is a blend of two bourbon mashbills, one with a higher rye content of 35% and the other with a lower mark of 18% rye.

According to 2XO, 60% of the blend is composed of the high-rye bourbon, which is finished for 9-12 months in new charred oak barrels with #3 and #4 char levels.

Bottled at 52% ABV, 2XO Whiskey The Kiawah Blend has a suggested retail price of $99.99.

In September, 2XO Whiskey released two new whiskeys, including the brand’s first “everyday” expression, 2XO American Oak, priced more affordably than the rest of 2XO’s product’s, at $49.99.

In November, 2XO released its Gem of Kentucky bourbon.

About 2XO Whiskey

Launched by Dedman in 2022, 2XO Whiskey stands for “Two Times Oak” because each whiskey released by the brand undergoes additional oak exposure.

A prolific blender, Dedman is best known for reviving the Kentucky Owl brand and then selling it to Stoli.
