The Swisher, Iowa-based Cedar Ridge Distillery announced on Friday that it is implementing new leadership changes by hiring a new president, general manager and master distiller. CEO Jeff Quint announced that his son, Murphy Quint, will be stepping into the shoes of the master distilling role.

“Building Cedar Ridge with my wife Laurie has been the greatest achievement of my career,” Jeff Quint said in a news release. “We’re proud we’ve been embraced by the local Iowa community and that our products have won over the taste buds of whiskey enthusiasts across the country.”

In May, Cedar Ridge’s The QuintEssential American Single Malt was named one of the 7 Best American Single Malt Whiskeys at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The 92-proof blended whiskey was finished in a Solera barrel and features a blend of whiskeys finished in rum, brandy, sherry, port wine and rye casks. Murphy Quint spearheaded the development of The QuintEssential, earning the distillery high praise.

The brand claims that over the last few years, Cedar Ridge Distillery has risen amongst the ranks and is now touted as one of the best-selling whiskey brands in Iowa.

“The growth of Cedar Ridge has been remarkable both as a brand and as a destination in Iowa and beyond,” the elder Quint said.

Cedar Ridge is additionally hiring Jamie Siefken for the roles of president and general manager. Siefken’s previous position was the general manager of Cedar Ridge Vineyards, according to his LinkedIn.

“It’s an incredible honor to receive the title of Master Distiller,” Murphy Quint said. “While this badge bears my name, it wouldn’t exist without the unwavering support and dedication of the entire Cedar Ridge Operations Team. Their passion fuels mine, and together we’ll write a bold new chapter in our whiskey legacy.”
