Kirker Shamrock, a Blend of 6 Irish Whiskeys, Launches for St. Patrick’s Day

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, distributor Kirker Greer Spirits has released Kirker Shamrock whiskey, a blend of six whiskeys sourced from four distilleries, one from each of the four provinces of Ireland: Leinster, Ulster, Munster and Connacht.

The Leinster distillery is Great Northern Distillery, Munster’s is West Cork Distillers, and Connacht’s is The Shed Distillery. The Ulster producer was unnamed.

Single grain, single malt and single pot still whiskey are used in the blend, all matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon and oloroso Sherry casks.

“Kirker Shamrock is about a feeling of place, of being Irish in the broadest sense, and from a personal standpoint, a celebration of a lifetime of working relationships within this wonderful whiskey industry,” said Richard Ryan, Drinksology Kirker Greer co-founder and head of liquid development.

Ryan, who crafted the Shamrock Blend, said he spent over a year traveling Ireland, visiting distilleries, sampling whiskies and building relationships in each province.

“Our vision is to celebrate the full island and for Kirker Shamrock to in some way represent the wider story of Irish whiskey itself,” Ryan said.

Bottled at 43% ABV, Shamrock will be available in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Poland, according to The Spirits Business.
