Booker’s Latest Batch of High-Proof Bourbon Is Named After Booker Noe’s Voice

The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has unveiled its third Booker’s Bourbon release of 2026, Southern Thunder Batch, a 127.3-proof bourbon inspired by the booming voice of the late Booker Noe. The limited release carries a suggested retail price of $99.99.

The batch is composed of barrels from five production dates and five warehouses. The youngest barrels in the blend were aged for 7 years, 8 months and 14 days.

According to the brand, the name refers to Noe’s deep, resounding voice, which was known to carry across the distillery. According to his son, Fred Noe, one phrase stood out when Booker was pleased with someone’s work: “DONE GOOD.” Booker was sparing with praise, making the words especially meaningful to those who heard them.

Southern Thunder Batch draws from five warehouse locations, with barrels selected from different floors to build the final blend:

  • 23% from the fifth floor of Warehouse 3
  • 21% from the third floor of Warehouse G, also known as Waterfill
  • 22% from the sixth floor of Warehouse 6
  • 20% from the fourth floor of Warehouse 4
  • 14% from the fourth floor of Warehouse M

Booker’s official tasting notes describe aromas of vanilla and oak, followed by a big, bold palate characteristic of the brand. The finish is described as long and delightful.
