On Wednesday, Anheuser-Busch announced plans to increase its investment in U.S. manufacturing to $600 million across 2025 and 2026, expanding efforts tied to brewery operations, workforce development and veteran hiring.

The funding is part of the company’s broader Brewing Futures initiative and builds on its long-standing focus on domestic production, with the brewer noting that the vast majority of its beer sold in the U.S. is made domestically.

The investment will support upgrades across breweries and production facilities, alongside expanded training programs aimed at strengthening technical skills within the workforce.

As part of the plan, Anheuser-Busch will open 15 new technical training centers at facilities nationwide. The centers are designed to provide employees with advanced instruction in areas such as mechanical systems, digital tools and operations management.

CEO Brendan Whitworth said the investment is intended to create long-term career opportunities rather than short-term hiring gains, with a focus on building a more skilled manufacturing workforce.

The company is also expanding its efforts to recruit military veterans into manufacturing roles through partnerships with the Manufacturing Institute, including its Heroes MAKE America program.

These initiatives aim to translate military experience into manufacturing credentials and streamline hiring pathways for service members entering the private sector.

The investment comes as major beverage companies continue to emphasize domestic production and workforce development amid shifting consumer demand and ongoing competition across beer, spirits and ready-to-drink categories.

Anheuser-Busch said the funding will also enhance production and packaging capabilities for key brands, including Michelob ULTRA, which remains one of the top-selling beers in the U.S.
