Pizza Hut announced on Tuesday the launch of a limited-edition wine made from tomatoes meant to pair with its Triple Treat Box — the popular discontinued combo meal that’s returning at select locations for a limited time.
“The holidays are a time for many gatherings, but often the gift of a bottle of wine can feel expected,” Pizza Hut Director of Advertising Elyse Slayton said in a news release. “Why not be the one to bring the pizza party with the gift of pizza wine and a Triple Treat Box designed to ignite fun and conversation? As a brand who has pioneered many firsts in the industry, we took a beloved classic pairing of pizza and red wine and flipped it on its head as we aim to spark intrigue and create a more memorable holiday pizza party.”
Pizza Hut requires a minimum two-bottle purchase of Tomato Wine by Pizza Hut, and each bottle costs $25. Foodies and oenophiles looking to go all out can purchase a limited-release gift set from the brand — which includes a bottle of Pizza Hut’s tomato wine, a wine opener and Pizza Hut-branded wine glasses — for $60.
The pizza chain claimed the purpose of its tomato wine is to pair with its Triple Treat Box, which offers customers the opportunity to purchase two medium pizzas, five breadsticks and either one ultimate chocolate chip cookie or 10 Cinnabon Mini Rolls for just $19.99.
As for the wine, Pizza Hut says it was made from ripe tomatoes and infused with basil. Pizza Hut partnered with Irvine’s Just Beyond Paradise Winery in Kansas for the release.
The brand shared it possesses an “aromatic blend of fresh herbs and spices with rich, sun-ripened tomato notes and a subtle hint of toasted oak — reminiscent of a perfectly baked pizza crust.” Pizza Hut’s Tomato Wine is lighter-bodied, and the brand recommends enjoying it chilled, like a Beaujolais.

Pizza Hut might just be on to something, as in July 2023 Claussen, a pickle brand owned by Kraft Heinz launched pickle-flavored canned sparkling wine with the Spritz Society. Though the idea was initially an April Fool’s joke, pickle lovers everywhere expressed interest in a salty, spritzy, pickle-flavored wine.
“With pickle being such a craveable food, we are excited to hear the response from our pickle lovers and think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by the unique, refreshing taste of a pickle-flavored sparkling wine cocktail,” Claussen Brand Manager Lizzy Goodman said in a statement.
