On Wednesday, Buffalo Trace Distillery unveiled its latest expression: Sazerac Full Proof, a new 125-proof rye whiskey joining the permanent Sazerac lineup. The high-proof rye whiskey arrives on the heels of the distillery’s recently completed $1.2 billion expansion, which has significantly increased capacity and output.

Available beginning November 2025, Sazerac Rye Full Proof will retail for $39.99 per 750ml bottle. It will roll out in select markets, bars and restaurants nationwide through Sazerac’s U.S. distributor network.

Bottles will be available at MSRP at the Buffalo Trace Distillery gift shop the weekend of Nov. 14-16, Buffalo Trace told The Daily Pour.

The distillery will mark the launch with a “Sazerac Rye Vertical Tasting” that same weekend at the distillery, featuring pours of the 90-, 100- and Full Proof expressions, along with Sazerac 18-Year-Old Rye, a member of America’s most sought-after whiskey range, the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Tickets are priced at $10 and include all four samples, a commemorative glass and a small food pairing.

Andrew Duncan, global brand director at Buffalo Trace Distillery, said the new release aims to highlight Sazerac’s signature balance while delivering more intensity.

“Sazerac Rye Full Proof amplifies the brand’s floral notes of vanilla and clove, along with fruity hints of orange, with just a touch of pepper, proving that rye whiskeys aren’t just great in cocktails — they shine on their own,” Duncan said in a news release.

Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley said the expansion allowed the team to produce more of the distillery’s core whiskeys while experimenting with new proofs and flavor profiles.

“Our expansion took 10 years in the making, and it’s rewarding to see how it’s already allowing us to create more of these whiskeys while maintaining the quality our fans expect,” Wheatley added.
