On Monday, Jack Daniel’s unveiled Tennessee Blackberry, a new flavored whiskey that infuses Jack’s traditional Tennessee whiskey with blackberry flavor. The release is now available nationwide.
The 70-proof expression starts with Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey — made with the distillery’s standard mashbill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye — and incorporates blackberry to add a fruity profile. It is priced at a suggested $21.99 per 750-milliliter bottle and will arrive on shelves this month.
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry joins the brand’s existing flavored whiskey lineup, which includes Tennessee Honey, Tennessee Fire and Tennessee Apple.
“The smooth, well-rounded finish of our Tennessee Whiskey makes it one of the most versatile expressions to pair with unexpected flavor,” Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher said in a news release. “By adding the ripe notes of blackberries, we’ve created an approachable spirit that’s full of character, easy to enjoy with friends and perfect for any season.”
The release comes about 17 months after Crown Royal — a major competitor to Jack Daniel’s in the flavored whiskey category — released its blackberry-flavored whisky, which went quite viral.
