WATCH: Whiskey Critic Tastes the Newly Released Penelope Rio Bourbon

In March, Penelope Bourbon announced the return of Penelope Rio, a bourbon finished in honey and Amburana Brazilian oak barrels.

Penelope’s first release of Rio came in 2023, and the limited bottle was highly sought-after, with many whiskey enthusiasts hoping to taste it and many, unfortunately, unable to get their hands on it.

In the latest video on the Whiskey Raiders YouTube channel, Whiskey Raiders Chief Spirits Critic Jay West, aka t8ke, cracks open the latest batch of Penelope Rio, breaks down his tasting notes and dives deep on the whiskey’s interesting combination of cask finishes and why Penelope Rio is so polarizing among whiskey drinkers.
