50 Best Bourbons of 2025, Ranked

Best Bourbons

Welcome to our top-50 roundup of the best bourbons of 2025.

How the rankings work: These rankings are sorted by The Daily Pour’s Critics’ Score, a number calculated for each bottle by aggregating reviews from trusted critics across the internet and (when necessary) converting them to the 50-100 scale we use.

Taste is subjective, but by using this metric and aggregating multiple reviews, we aim to get as close as possible to objectivity. When ties in the Critics’ Score occur, they’re broken by our in-house score. If there’s still a tie, the whiskey with the most aggregated reviews gets the nod. In the rare case that there’s still a tie, we simply break it by using alphabetical order.

Eligible bottles are bourbons that 1) Were released in 2025 or the latter half of 2024, so long as they weren’t considered for our 2024 rankings (so we can give love to bottles released late in 2024 that we didn’t have the chance to taste until 2025), and 2) We had the chance to taste. If you’re shocked that your favorite bottle isn’t on this list, it may have been excluded because we regrettably didn’t have a chance to review it (looking at you, BTAC). Price is not considered in our personal rating system (which is factored equally into the aggregate scores), but some critics we aggregate may factor that in to their scores.

If you’re interested in learning more about any bourbon on the list, just click the link embedded in its name. If you want to see our 100 Best Whiskeys of 2025 list, check that out here.

Without further ado, let’s get into the best bourbons of 2025!

47. Booker’s 2025-02 ‘By the Pond’

best whiskeys 2025

Nose: Dark and sweet on the nose, with confectioner’s sugar, cookie dough, icing and butterscotch pulling together a beautiful, dessert-heavy nose, which is coupled with a darker side: coffee grounds, dark chocolate, black cherry. These two profiles are joined by a bit of spice — gingerbread and a touch of anise — and some milled corn grain.

Taste: Oily mouthfeel with a pretty hefty amount of heat — but not too much. The pastry-forward profile from the nose is still here (buttercream, cornbread, peanut brittle) but takes a back seat to a fruitier profile of cherry, peach cobbler and orange peel. Bitter tannin, coffee and tobacco slice through the sweet notes to deliver a beautifully balanced pour.

Finish: The finish is long and satisfying: apple pie dusted with cinnamon and served a la mode, plus brown sugar, lemon oil, leather and tannin.

Taste: The palate is rich, satisfying and layered, with a great viscosity and some friendly heat. Rye spice plays a big role, working alongside oak and sweeter corn-based notes. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, allspice, crème brûlée, molasses, apple pie, dried cherry, pomander, tannin, espresso and dark chocolate. After getting some air, the dried cherry note takes on more of a Luxardo cherry syrup character. There’s a playful fruity and floral character that comes through on the bottom of the tongue, delivering lemon oil and lavender.

Finish: The finish is long and layered. It opens with a nice fresh apple note, joined by rye spice: cinnamon, clove and sassafras. Black cherry and saltwater taffy add a fun, fruity profile, and there’s also a light, fluffy quality at play here that’s reminiscent of marshmallow fluff but with more of a honeyed sweetness. Big bubblegum vibe toward the back of the palate.

Finish: Long finish, which sees sweetness and oak interwoven with some baking spice. Browned butter is at play with soft oak and tannin, cinnamon and clove, apple pie, caramel, marshmallow, cookie butter and a bit of tea.

Finish: Tannin hangs on during a long finish, sucking the moisture from your teeth. It’s joined by a big toasted oak vibe, plus melted butter, caramel, cinnamon, maple donut, clove, flan, heavy whipping cream and a touch of lingering minerality.

Taste: Gorgeous and rich on the palate. It’s very oaky, tannic and dry but doesn’t reach over-oaked status. Crème brûlée, espresso, cherries, peanut brittle, vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge, leather, cinnamon.

Finish: Leather and tobacco lead a long, slick finish, joined by oak and tannin, which are followed by luxardo cherry, lemon curd, cookie butter and dark chocolate, plus a bit of pepper and clove.
