A Jack Daniel’s warehouse partially collapsed early Monday morning, the Lynchburg Times reported. The partial collapse occurred around 5:40 a.m. CST, and there were no injuries.

In a Facebook post, The Lynchburg Times shared it received a statement from the Tennessee Whiskey brand’s parent company, Brown-Forman:

“Overnight, there was a partial collapse of a Jack Daniel’s Distillery barrel house in Lynchburg, TN,” Jack Daniel’s Global Public Relations Director Svend Jansen said. “No individuals were inside the barrel house at the time, and there were no injuries to any employees. We are working with the distillery and local officials to assess the damage.”

Nashville news outlet WKRN reported the brand did not reveal whether or not any whiskey barrels were destroyed in the incident, nor how long the clean-up process would take.

Spirits Writer David Thomas Tao posted a photo of the collapsed warehouse, which was shared by Barrelhouse 107, to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The photo has yet to be confirmed by Jack Daniel’s.

“Jack Daniel’s has plenty of resources to handle the situation,” Moore County Sheriff Tyler Hatefield said, according to WKRN. “Everything is contained at this point.”

A Rough Start to 2025 for Jack Daniel’s Parent Company, Brown-Forman

It appears to be a rough first quarter for the Tennessee whiskey brand. In January, Brown-Forman announced that it was set to lay off 12% of its international workforce, which amounted to 5,400 workers. The company additionally announced the closure of a Louisville barrel-making facility in April.

Brown-Forman cited a weakening consumer demand for alcohol as one of the drivers for the move. The corporation also claimed that the high cost of raw materials forced it to raise its prices to justify the expenses and keep its margins intact.
