On Tuesday, Jack Daniel’s announced the Tennessee whiskey brand will join forces with producer and DJ Metro Boomin for two performances at Formula 1 events at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nevada. The brand additionally announced the release of a limited-edition T-shirt with a label redesigned by Metro Boomin himself.
The shirts will be available exclusively at the event and are significant in that this is the first time a musician has redesigned the Jack Daniel’s label. Some of the limited-edition shirts will be given away to attendees.
“Redesigning the legendary Jack Daniel’s label t-shirt has been a thrilling creative journey,” Metro Boomin said in a news release from Jack Daniel’s. “Infusing my personal touch into this iconic brand has been inspiring, and I’m excited to unveil the result.”
Jack Daniel’s claims the brand has a “special relationship with music” that dates back to the origins of the brand.
“Our history and heritage have made us a brand that is recognized across the world as a symbol for independence, boldness and living life on your own terms,” said Mary Beth O’Mara, Jack Daniel’s brand director. “Metro Boomin embodies the spirit of our brand, and we can’t be more excited to have him as part of the team.”
The performances follow Jack Daniel’s official partnership with the McLaren Formula 1 racing team. Both brands celebrated the partnership with a limited-edition whiskey offering that features a custom label with the Maclaren logo.
Metro Boomin, Jack Daniel’s and Universal Music Group will entertain at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, and the Las Vegas Grand Prix in Nevada.
The Austin, Texas Grand Prix will take place the weekend of Oct. 20-22, while The Las Vegas Grand Prix is set to take place Nov. 16-18.
