On Monday, Jack Daniel’s announced the latest releases of its 10- and 12-year-old Tennessee whiskey expressions. These are the newest launches in the Jack Daniel’s Aged Series, which launched in 2021.

“Our Jack Daniel’s Aged Series has given us the opportunity to produce modern whiskeys that simultaneously capture the essence of the liquid Mr. Jack created over 150 years ago,” Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher said in a news release. “These releases embody the artistry, passion and craftsmanship that define Jack Daniel’s legacy, and I’m excited for our friends to enjoy this year’s batches of special whiskeys.”

This is the second release of Jack Daniel’s 12 Year Old and third of Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Old. Both whiskeys underwent Jack Daniel’s signature charcoal mellowing process before being aged in new, toasted and charred American white oak barrels, first in the upper floors of Jack Daniel’s rickhouse before being moved to lower levels.

Jack Daniel’s 12 Year Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 2 is bottled at 107 proof, while the 10-year expression is presented at 97 proof.

Both releases are available in limited quantities across the U.S. this month in 700-milliliter bottles. The 12-year-old whiskey has a suggested retail price of $94.99 and the 10-year-old $84.99. Of course, if previous years are any indication, it will be tough to find these whiskeys for any where near those prices unless you track them down quickly.

Both whiskeys are distilled from the traditional Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey mashbill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye.

In recent history, Jack Daniel’s has been known for its ubiquitous, low-priced expressions, such Old No. 7 and Tennessee Honey. In the past couple of years, however, the historic Tennessee whiskey brand has ventured into exciting territory, returning to its early roots with age-stated whiskeys and other exciting expressions featuring different cask finishes and bottled at higher proofs.
