The Daily Caller reported on Wednesday that a Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., was spotted at a bar drinking vodka cranberry cocktails alone the same day he reportedly told his colleagues that he has serious doubts about Joe Biden’s odds of winning the 2024 election.

Publicly, Tester has voiced support for the incumbent president, claiming his octogenarian status wouldn’t be an issue. The senator previously claimed Biden was “absolutely 100% with it.”

Yet, multiple outlets have reported that behind closed doors, Tester expressed during a private meeting on July 9 that he did not think Biden stands a chance of beating Trump in the 2024 election.

Later that same day, according to the Daily Caller, Tester was seen at a French restaurant called Bistro Cacao in Washington D.C. drinking vodka cranberries by himself.

“I’d be drinking too if I’d been caught lying to voters about Joe Biden’s mental decline,” National Republican Senatorial Committee Communications Director Mike Berg said, according to the Daily Caller.

Tester is up for reelection in November.

Since the televised debate that took place in late June, a growing number of members of the Democratic party have called for Biden to reconsider his run in the 2024 election.

CNN reported that multiple Democrats have privately lobbied for Biden to step down and let another candidate run for office. The president’s frequent verbal mix-ups have been the subject of much scrutiny, such as the time he said he was “the first black woman to serve with a black president,” according to the New York Post.

The Democratic poll analyzer, Stanley Greenberg, expressed that Biden does in fact appear to be shaping up to lose the election.

After Greenberg sent a polling memo to Biden insiders, one Democrat referred to it as “Devastating.”

Even some celebrities have called for Biden to step down. The Guardian reported Wednesday that Clooney wrote an opinion article in The New York Times, asking Biden to drop out of the race.

Clooney celebrated Biden’s career but voiced that the politician is simply too old.

“But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,” Clooney wrote.
