This is a 12 year old expression released from the Yamazaki distillery in Japan. Coming to market first in 1984, it was one of the original forerunners of Japanese whiskey.
The flavors offer perfection in their simplicity: silky honey, soft spices, crystalized pineapple, barley sugar, lemon, and orange. On the finish, the spices chatter on and on as the sweet citrus and honey fade in and out. One to cherish.
Did someone say "breakfast"? Buttered toast and cereal with a dollop of honey and vanilla are found here. Hell, there might be some orange notes playing along in the background also with the faintest hint of dried cranberries.
