Sweet and creamy on the nose with a touch of grape must, confectioners' sugar and fresh dough. Interestingly, it's got a pleasant mustiness.
Moderate viscosity on the palate with plenty of orange peel, minerality, sweet wine character and a lovely raspberry jam quality. Peppery, with a touch of slate and oakiness. Jammy, fresh and fun with a savory underbelly and plenty of oak to go around.
Long finish, punchy and proofy with cocoa, berry and jamminess. It carries for an impressive while, full of orange marmalade, oakiness and a delicious, doughy viscosity.
If you've been bemoaning a lack of something truly distinctive and interesting in your cabinet, this release from Woodinville may have been a distillery-exclusive but is well worth the trouble to track down a sample if there's an opportunity.
