Paradigm Rye is aged in oak and bottled at 93 proof. It blends spirit distilled by Widow Jane in Red Hook, New York, alongside rye whiskeys sourced from Kentucky and Indiana.
A very, very pleasant sipping Rye that keeps you taking another sip and exploring the flavors; great for Manhattans but would sneak a sip or two while mixing another batch.
Paradigm Rye has a tall order to fill: convince non-rye drinkers to take a chance on it while offering seasoned drinkers something as well. Somehow Widow Jane pulls it off.

House Review
Nose:
Sweet, fairly complex and decently hot. Pine and anise are the biggest notes here, plus nutmeg, orange peel, molasses, honey and milk chocolate.
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel. Nice and oaky. Spearmint, anise, cinnamon rolls, clove, waffle cone and butterscotch.
Finish:
Medium finish. Char, bubblegum and a dose of ethanol.
Overall:
Nice, sweet, punchy, dessert-forward rye. It isn't super complex but would be great in a cocktail. The smooth and sweet waffle cone flavor profile makes for a solid neat sipper, too.
Score:
85
