10 Years
Released in April 2026 to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, this is a 10-year-old limited-edition rye whiskey from WhistlePig Whiskey. Bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV), it has a suggested retail price of $249.99. Accompanying this rye whiskey is another expression, Declaration Wheat Whiskey, as well as a petition to make rye whiskey the official whiskey of America. WhistlePig is hoping to get 1,776 signatures on this petition, at which point it plans to bring the motion to Congress.

The nose is very aromatic and successfully intertwines loads of spice — sassafras, clove, pine, cinnamon, nutmeg, dill, mint — with sweeter notes of maple, cola and browned butter.
The palate is really quite well balanced between spice, oak and sweetness. Spice is dominant, immediately smacking you with nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, spearmint and dill. But oak is there all along, providing a woody spine. That browned butter note from the nose is back on the palate, and it adds a really rewarding texture and character.
The finish is medium in length. It begins herbaceous, with dill and spearmint and eucalyptus galore. Some brown sugar sweetness slips in and out throughout the course of the finish, but the overwhelming final impression is spice bomb, with a bit of accompanying sweet oak.
A very good rye! I don't know how seriously to take WhistlePig's petition to make rye the official whiskey of the U.S., but it is, if nothing else, a great marketing stunt, and this is a very good rye whiskey.
