  • It’s not my favorite Amburana whiskey, but it’s not too heavy-handed, making it a deft handling of a heavy, tricky finish.

  • The taste has good rye spices along with caramel, black cherries, honey, vanilla, and apple pie. The finish is long with lingering spices. Very nice!

  • Nose:

Heavy brown sugar and amburana, cinnamon and sugar with a touch of pepper, rye and ginger

  • Taste:

Pleasant mouthfeel, nice sweetness with a bit of viscosity. It’s pretty sweet; the cinnamon, sugar, leather, tobacco and Cinnabon amburana character melds with red berries, pears and apples.

  • Finish:

Moderate finish, heavy spice and gobs of Amburana

  • Overall:

It’s not my favorite Amburana whiskey, but it’s not too heavy-handed, making it a deft handling of a heavy, tricky finish.

  • Score:

    80
