Beautiful, bright nose filled with cherries, caramel, fluffy French toast with a light dusting of cinnamon, maple and marzipan.
Gorgeous, dense, uber-thick viscosity. The palate delivers plenty of wheaty character — think fresh-baked rolls slathered in honey, plus cherries, Gingerbread, butterscotch, oak, buttercream frosting, candied orange and a nice big almond butter note. The back palate gets darker, with leather and tannin.
The finish opens bright and very pleasing and just keeps on going: Orange peel, maraschino cherry, butterscotch, coconut and milk chocolate segue into a more mature profile of oak, big-time leather, tannin and cinnamon.
The viscosity on this whiskey is out of this world. It’s creamy and clings to the tongue in a way that is truly very rare. Star Hill Farm has the thickest mouthfeel of any whiskey I’ve tasted in 2026, and the flavor profile is sweet and delicious. There’s not much to knock here; flat out incredible stuff. Kudos, Maker’s.
Last year’s Star Hill Farm was excellent. 2026’s is even better.
