Single Oak Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Rye Bourbon is produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky and bottled by parent company Sazerac. It uses a rye mashbill, entered the barrel at 125 proof and was aged eight years in a concrete-floor warehouse with a #4 char barrel made from oak cut from the bottom half of the tree with staves seasoned for 12 months. It is bottled at 45% ABV and sells for $74.99 for a 375mL bottle.
This is a decidedly a sweet whiskey, unabashedly filled with dessert notes and finishing with extreme ease, almost carefree. Fans of bruising hazmat fare will find this whiskey far too tame for their liking.
