This rye whiskey comes to us from B.R. Distilling in Tennessee. This straight rye whiskey is 4 years old, and produced using a 95/5 mashbill. A batch is comprised of about 20 barrels or so, and bottling is done with no chill filtration, which is nice to see. With all that out of the way, let's dive in.

  • Nose:

    Big clove note, juicy fruit gum, cigar tobacco, light breadiness.

  • Taste:

    Thin on the palate, but fruity and spicy. Lots of fruit like apple, pear, mango with a kick of clove and rye spice.

  • Finish:

    Medium finish, spicy and rich here. Lots of fruit still.

  • Overall:

    This is hitting nicely despite the youth, and has tons of potential. Loving it so far.
