A blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskeys, this is the cask-strength edition of the Lost Monarch release from the California producer, Redwood Empire. This is a blend of bourbon (74% corn, 20% rye, 4.5% malted barley and 1.5% wheat mashbill) and rye (94% rye, 5% malted barley, 1% wheat mashbill). This blended whiskey is a mesh of 3-to-12-year-old components bottled at 117.2 proof

A touch of grain and heat on the palate. Sweet cream, caramel, pepper, ginger, clove and light oak.
Short, hot finish, packed with caramel, toffee, honey and sweet cream and pepper.
This is a good start for Redwood Empire. It's pleasant, there's plenty of character, nice development of oak and structure. Looking forward to watching this brand develop.
