  • The bourbon from the Oak Collection wasn't my jam - it was good but certainly not great. This rye, on the other hand, is great and takes a complementary approach to combining sweet finishing woods like Toasted Oak and French Oak with biting and bold rye character.

  • Nose:

Bold and rich, a maple bomb that combines zesty cracked pepper, honey, clove and a touch of candied ginger.

  • Taste:

Medium viscosity on the palate. Honey, toffee, rye spice, bold herbal kick and a dry, oaky component that balances both with pleasant character.

  • Finish:

Long finish. This is more like it. Sweet marshmallow, creme brulee and caramelized sugar combines with oak and rye spice, herbal spearmint and a raw, cracked pepper note for a long finish that's a trip and a half.

  • Overall:

The bourbon from the Oak Collection wasn't my jam - it was good but certainly not great. This rye, on the other hand, is great and takes a complementary approach to combining sweet finishing woods like Toasted Oak and French Oak with biting and bold rye character.
