Old Dominick Huling Station Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is produced with a mash bill of 52% corn, 44% rye and 4% malted barley. It has a proof of 100 and is aged in 53-gallon barrels. The bourbon is sourced through a contract with MGP and uses the brand's own mashbill and yeast strain along with Memphis water transported to Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Huling Station has a nice balance of sweet and heat. The flavors aren’t very complex, but they are enjoyable. I could see myself reaching for this frequently.
The finish however is short, and slightly floral. It’s still quite vegetal on the fade-out, but in this composition it comes across as a lot more pleasant.
