Oaklore Story Series: Old Fashioned Cask Finish Four Grain Bourbon is a North Carolina-based sourced bourbon blended from whiskeys produced at Jackson Purchase Distillery in Kentucky and Southern Distilling in North Carolina. It uses a four-grain mashbill of 70% corn, 10% rye, 10% wheat and 10% malted barley, aged a minimum of six years, then finished for 18 months in barrels previously used to age Oaklore's Old Fashioned Cocktail Mixer. The whiskey is bottled at 98 proof (49% ABV) and retails for $89.95.

  • Well damn. This truly tastes like an old fashioned. Super tasty — it’s not too often you taste a spirit that tastes like a (damn good) ready-made cocktail.

  • Nose:

Very sweet on the nose. Certainly reads Old Fashioned. Cane sugar, maraschino cherry, plum, angostura.

  • Taste:

Quite viscous for the proof and carries notes of brown sugar, cherry, plum, cinnamon and pepper.

  • Finish:

The finish is medium in length. It begins with cinnamon, clove and gingerbread, leading into Demerara, plum and tobacco.

  • Overall:

This truly tastes like an old fashioned. Super tasty — it’s not too often you taste a spirit that tastes like a (damn good) ready-made cocktail.
