With a joyful finish and palate which I enjoyed more than the nose, Nikka Miyagikyo Non Age Statement was a lovely gateway whisky to Japanese whiskies.
There is a great balance here between sweet and savory, but the whisky lacks much in the way of depth to back that up, giving way to a relatively short, though perfectly pleasant, finish.
