  • The price point does sting a bit at $160 per bottle. However, it is worthy of keeping around in your personal stash at home or for special occasions with friends.

  • The taste is spicy with notes of clove, black pepper, and allspice balanced by licorice, brown sugar, caramel, and cocoa.

  • Is a 10-year-old rye whiskey worth $170+? That’s not for me and my limited means to say for you, but for me the answer is a solid no. Maybe half that and it would be a good deal.

  • If you’re a barrel proof freak like me, you may want to look elsewhere solely based upon the value. I would recommend to anyone to try this at a bar for a decent price, but beyond that, it may be a pass.

  • This rye keeps its focus quite narrow, but the herbal punch on the finish is an unmistakable exemplar of the classic rye style. If nothing else, it’s a delightful “reference” rye that’ll be perfect in a vertical tasting.

  • Overall this is a perfectly fine rye. It's not particularly impressive, but it's not a bad rye either.

  • Nose:

Sweet apple, pear, brown sugar. Punchy rye spice, some clove and a bit of caramel.

  • Taste:

Mild on the palate - little to no heat. Spicy rye kicks off before mellowing and giving way to apple crisp, brown sugar, some faint metallic character and a bit of clove.

  • Finish:

Short to medium finish. Heavy on clove, a hint of rye, some brown sugar and a fruity twist sees this dram out.

  • Overall:

Overall this is a perfectly fine rye. It's not particularly impressive, but it's not a bad rye either. I'd save your time hunting this. Get a Mic Drop instead.
