The 2024 Laphroaig Càirdeas limited edition release is a 10-year-old Laphroaig release that blends two previous Càirdeas releases: 2019’s Triple Wood and 2021’s PX Cask. It's bottled at 52.4% ABV and has a suggested retail price of $110.
The mix of fruit and smoke works wonderfully well, the finish a lovely little mix of both sides of the equation, clinging to fig and date as the conclusion fades away.
Sweet notes like chocolate and hard toffee candy, akin to treacle, start to emerge, accompanied by sour cherry, brown sugar, and a touch of ginger spice that lingers beyond the other flavours in the medium-length finish.
