Unveiled March 31, 2026, this is the inaugural release of Beam's Knob Creek "Blender's Edition." Distilled at Beam’s Clermont distillery (DSP KY-230),a ged 10 years and bottled at 106 proof (53% ABV), this bottle is positioned as a "sweet bourbon blend," with the label declaring it to have more confectionary notes than the classic Knob Creek 9-year shelfer. It began rolling out to shelves in March and has a suggested retail price of $44.99 — a very strong value for a 10-year-old bourbon at 106 proof.

  • Nose:

On the nose, this is softer, sweeter and creamier than the traditional Knob Creek profile: less nuttiness, more butterscotch, marshmallow fluff and frosting. There's a big fruit factor at play, too, which comes across as part apple pie, part peach cobbler. Beneath the sweetness lies a sawdusty oak note.

  • Taste:

Quite viscous on the palate. Soft oak and gobs of caramel intertwine with a big candied peach note, apricot, custard and a light minerality. The balance here between oakiness and decadent sweet notes is impressive.

  • Finish:

The finish opens with cinnamon, which segues into dark chocolate-covered macadamia nuts and a touch of espresso.

  • Overall:

A new competitor has entered the "best mid-shelf bourbon" arena. And also the "best value in bourbon" arena. Kudos to Beam on a fantastic release. The nose is dazzling, and the palate doesn't let you down from there. This is just flat-out delicious, drinkable bourbon at an affordable price point. What more could you ask for? I hope it remains easy to find.
