  • There’s something here combining rye and toasted oak; it’s powerful and rich, and the two maintain balance so much more deftly than most toasted bourbons.

  • Nose:

Beautiful and rich on the nose, loaded with toffee, big and bold rye spice, tons of pepper, clove and nutmeg. Gorgeous combination of sweetness, spice and rye character. The toast is additive here — not too overbearing but brings out a lot of complexity in the rye.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, loaded with big rye spice at first: a touch of herbal spice, big cracked pepper, rye bread, toffee and some honey. Toast sweeps in with a punch of vanilla cream, waffle cone, a touch of marshmallow and raisin bread. Satisfying oak character, lovely dense, satisfying, richness on the palate. It’s a big, rich rye. Crazy good.

  • Finish:

Long finish, heavy on the rye spice, sweet oak, satisfying combination of dessert character and punchy rye spice.

  • Overall:

Well done to K.Luke with its best release yet. There’s something here combining rye and toasted oak; it’s powerful and rich, and the two maintain balance so much more deftly than most toasted bourbons. Really great from tip to tail.
