In an exercise to pay appreciation to one of Jack Daniels most notable fans: Frank Sinatra. As a result, the brand has incorporated additional grooves to their staves for extra oak and spirit interaction. Frank Sinatra infamously loved his Jack Daniels both on ice and with a splash of water, which seems like nothing short of heavy dilution, but we will see how this stands up neat.
While the character of the whiskey is dialed way up, it's still quintessentially Jack Daniels, and it could use some body and proof to back up the wildly unique profile it has.
it’s not a super-complex whiskey…but I don’t think they were aiming to make a super-complex whiskey. That being said, there’s lots more happening here than in a glass of their Old No. 7 black label.
The extra sweetness is balanced nicely by the higher proof. This is a smokier, bigger, and bolder Jack; I can see why Sinatra wanted to be buried with it.
Smooth and dark character. Complex, roasted version of the regular Old No. 7 Jack Daniel’s. I wish they’d take this as part of their core range, with at least one third of its price.
I appreciate the care and craftsmanship and dedication applied to this whiskey. But in my opinion, this whiskey fares best in a band and not as a solo artist.

House Review
Nose:
Sweet, creamy, loaded with banana cream pie, honey roasted peanut, vanilla bean, faint maple, and buttery caramel. The banana influence here cannot be understated.
Taste:
Banana runts, caramel, honey and toffee. Thin to medium on the palate, it's not astonishingly complex or rich, but there's a bit going on despite the thinner mouthfeel. A peppery bite on the back palate, some light peanut butter notes. Interesting.
Finish:
Long finish, satisfying. Reminds me of a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Banana runt candies, light caramel, big vanilla bean and a touch of oak.
Overall:
This is a strange release. While the character of the whiskey is dialed way up, it's still quintessentially Jack Daniels, and it could use some body and proof to back up the wildly unique profile it has. It's a big upgrade over the standard Jack profile, but if you're looking for big, and bold, definitely check out the single barrel barrel proof instead.
