  • The denouement is fresh and clean — an enjoyable break from the rush of flavors that arrive when it first hits the tongue.

  • The smokiness comes forward at the first sip, wrapping around a core of oak and vanilla custard and finishing long, with a mouthwatering bitter chocolate note.

  • While I was hoping for a deeper complexity in this whiskey it is hard to fault its wonderful flavor and balance. Not many producers can create such a light and energetic whiskey without sacrificing its finish

  • All-in-all there’s nothing wrong with the Harmony, I’m just struggling to get a whole lot out of it which makes its high price difficult to manage.

  • The whisky is smooth with no burn on a medium length finish, backed by lasting notes of oak and more honey. This is one that could be enjoyed either neat or on the rocks.

  • [The finish] is long and smooth with lingering notes of cinnamon, sandalwood, coconut, and tropical touches of kiwi fruit and grilled pineapple. Very complex and interesting!

  • A touch of smoke comes along in the mid-palate, before fruits and caramelized coffee biscuits. Water allows the flavors to flood the palate. Exemplary blending skills and classically Hibiki.

  • Nose:

Vanilla, melons and vine fruit: cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, etc. It's fruity, aromatic and light all around. No ethanol whatsoever

  • Taste:

The mouth feel is very thin, and its incredibly gentle. There's more vanilla, some sugary sweet and then a blast of more fruits. I hate the word smooth, but there's no denying it. This is just smooth. Not a whole ton going on here. Its sweet, thin and unoffensive.

  • Finish:

Short, mild and fruity. There's a lot of butterscotch in this one, much like some Nikka I used to have a bottle of.

  • Overall:

This is easily a one note dram. It's sweet, has no ethanol notes and smooooooooooth which explains why its all the rage among many newcomers who want to start with the hottest thing.
